Hey guys! I have been using Bare Minerals make up since December 2013 and I absolutely love it, and thought that I should share with you some of the items that I own, including the new kit that I got for a Christmas present.
I have a combination type skin which is both oily and dry at the same time, and have suffered with acne on and off for years. Using powder foundations has really helped calm my skin down, and because there aren’t any skin-irritating ingredients in Bare Minerals make up it works wonders on my skin.
The first thing you need to make sure of if you have spot-prone or sensitive skin of any sort is finding a skincare routine that works well for you, and also finding make up that doesn’t irritate your skin. I will upload a blog on my skincare routine later on this week.
The first item I use if I don’t apply a cream foundation is the Bare Minerals “Prime Time” neutralising primer. This makes the powder set onto your face and helps to give an even coverage, minimising the visibility of your pores.
I then apply the Bare Minerals “Mineral Veil” powder to further enhance the minimisation of my pores and also to reduce any redness or blemishes on my skin. I sometimes have to use a concealer as well as the mineral veil if I have any spots or irritated areas of skin.
After applying mineral veil I apply the Bare Minerals Powder Foundation in the shade “Fairly Light” all over my face using the Full Flawless Face Brush and I also use the Max Coverage Concealer brush to apply it to my T-zone and around my eyes for better coverage.
Once I have applied my foundation I then apply their bronzer in the colour “Warmth” however, I only use a tiny amount of this bronzer because it is really dark against my complexion otherwise.
After I use “Warmth” I apply one of the two blushes that I have from Bare Minerals in the shades “Beauty” or “Glamour” using one of my Flawless Face Brushes
I apply my eyeshadow often using the colours “Celebrate” and “Ball Gown” from my “The Main Event” Bare Minerals eyeshadow quad (I have reviewed this eyeshadow quad in my January Favourites)
To finish my make up I apply my Bare Minerals “Smoke & Define” double ended eyeliner. One side is a Kohl eyeliner in the shade “Deep Brown”, and the other is a liquid eyeliner in the shade “Espresso” and afterwards apply a layer of mascara (I don’t yet own a Bare Minerals mascara, so lately I have been using the sample of the new Roller Lash mascara from Benefit)
I also sometimes apply the Bare Minerals lipgloss that I have called “Marvelous Moxie” in the shade “Dazzler” over a nude or pink lipstick.
I hope you get the chance to try out Bare Minerals make up because although it is a bit more pricey than drug store make up it lasts a very long time and is amazing make up!
